California Penal Code 206 pertains to the crime of torture. Here is the text of California Penal Code Section 206:
“206. (a) Every person who, with the intent to cause cruel or extreme pain and suffering for the purpose of revenge, extortion, persuasion, or for any sadistic purpose, inflicts great bodily injury as defined in Section 12022.7 upon the person of another, is guilty of torture.”
The crime described in this section may be committed in any of the following ways:
-By using any instrument to cut, burn, or torture the victim.
-By administering any injurious or noxious substance or liquid to the victim.
-By personally directing and supervising the torture.
-By aiding and abetting any person in committing the acts
The crime described in this section does not require any proof that the victim suffered pain.Torture is punishable by imprisonment in the state prison for a term of life.
